ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally recognised standard that an organisation can use to demonstrate its controls and processes. Implementing it will ensure that customers' requirements and expectations are continually met. Originally a British Standard (BS 5750) it was superceded in 1994 by the ISO 9000, which was substantially revised in 2000. In today's highly competitive business environment, being able to identify your customers' requirements and then manage your resources to consistently meet them has never been more important. Any organisation irrespective of its size or area of activity, can benefit from implementing the standard. Implementing the standard will motivate staff, define their roles and responsibilities and continually strive for improved productivity and efficiency. It will highlight areas of deficiency and promote improvements to reduce waste or rejected product. |
