BS EN ISO 9001-2008

What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is a quality management standard. As such it can be applied to all types and sizes of companies irrespective of what they do.

It demonstrates how a company is run and how that company will satisfy the requirements of its customer on time, every time.

The revised version of the 9001 standard introduced in 2008 is more practical, realistic and user friendly than earlier versions.

It recognises the skills and training within the organisation as well as focusing on customer satisfaction

Implementing the system will motivate staff, define their roles and responsibilities and demonstrate how the company continually strives to improve productivity and customer satisfaction.

It will highlight areas of deficiency and implement a programme of improvements to address the shortfall.

ISO 9001 is based around key management principles such as

  • Customer focus
  • Involvement of staff at all levels
  • Seeking continual improvement.
  • A factual approach to decision making based on evidence gathered.
  • A process approach to the way the company operates.
